The future broke over us faster than we ever expected.
All of us think we thought of that great thing first.
It feels like De Ja Vu. In your case it maybe a invention, a business, a book… if only you had the luck of launching it first.
I’m not sure how frequent that feeling is for you? For me it feels the same as being. Like those seagulls in Finding Nemo. Mine, mine, mine.
It’s always like this…for all of us, maybe?
Let me tell you about something that is mine and it’s timestamped to prove it.
It too feels like De Ja Vu, or a creative prophecy perhaps. You be the judge.
I drew a picture and wrote a story and posted them on instagram in November 2019.
You remember 2019 right? It was like all the other Novembers that went before it. It was normal. There was no Covid 19, no lockdowns. Back in those days you could go offline. For days at a time.

The text I wrote to accompany the drawing was in the style of a Public Health Announcement. The flash fiction piece unwittingly predicted the future. ‘Warning, a major glitch is coming to the entire world. Get your fun in now because normal life is set to be switched off.’
“We can confirm that Reality as you have know it - will be shut down completely in 2020. The closure is due to essential repair works to the motherboard. Public access will be restricted during the maintenance period. The works are expected to take 22 Quants to complete. Ten times longer than predicted.”
I didn’t imagine it would happen. I promise you it’s not all my fault…I think.
Then it did happen. None of us were expecting it.
The strangeness texts continues with excellent advice if you knew a global lockdown was coming:
“In light of the announcement, we are encouraging people to enjoy a wide range of non-mediated experiences this weekend. Activities suggested by Buzzfeed include: sports. long walks, looking into aquariums, eating food with people, touching skin, sexual congress, social drinking, sleeping, playing with children and live gigs. ”

Anyways, me and my closest friend since I was a child are expanding the prophecy into a long term project. It will first be developed and released as an NFT. As we go we will figure out ways to collaborate with other creators to make all sorts of exciting creative works. We are going to combine animation and music and art into a brand new digital artwork and reimagine the new world we’ve all been plunged into. The series of experimental Non Fungible Tokens will follow.
We’ll expand and innovate with other creators. We’ll play, develop and follow this creative thread all the way to the nth degree. We’re excited and open about where it might lead. We want to form a creative community around this and associated collaborative digital artworks. It’ll be amazing to learn about how to use the blockchain to create online and offline works and events in a spirit of creative independence.
